Car Shipping Reviews
If you find that you need to move a car across the country, you may have certain expectations about how that would (or should) work. But as you start your research into car shipping and request auto transport quotes, you are likely to find yourself flooded with emails and calls from auto transporters offering similar sounding services – some for wildly different prices. Or one company may offer a good price, but not the kind of guarantees you expected.
How do you determine who is offering a good price, and how do you make sure you are getting what you pay for? How do you know if you are expecting too much or if you are really being scammed? Sometimes the car shipping reviews can actually feed your fears, but you just have to be smart about what you are reading. The following are some things to keep in mind as you read car transport reviews.
Reading car shipping reviews can give you a real education into the auto transport industry, and it actually helps if you keep an open mind while trusting your gut. Like anything else in life, if it sounds too good to be true, it might be. Excellent, glowing reviews might sound like just the ticket and inspire you to quickly to sign with a well-reviewed company, but actually read the content.
On some auto transport review forums, there are checks and balances to ensure that carriers and auto transport companies aren’t writing their own reviews, but sometimes they may be just that – fakes. If you read enough reviews, you can often tell by the wording and the specificity (or lack thereof) if the review is by an actual customer. Sometimes if it is overly generic and/or glowing it may not accurately represent the auto transporters real level of service. Do take all similarly-worded glowing reviews with a grain of salt.
On the other hand, bad reviews don’t always indicate a poor level of service. There are actually a few reasons for that. Firstly, people are often more likely to complain if they feel wronged, but don’t necessarily write a good review if they got the service they expected. If a company has been in business for years and has a couple of bad reviews that may simply mean that they had a couple of tough customers. Or that accidents and/or misunderstandings do happen. Did the auto transport company address the complaint professionally? How a company deals with a tough customer can be very informative.
Take a look at the reasoning behind bad reviews – is the complaint realistic? Sometimes a customer has an expectation of service that is not actually included in the auto transport quote. Oftentimes, to keep auto transport costs low a carrier can’t personalize every delivery time to each customers exact preference which comes as a surprise to some people (as one example). So just because a customer gives a poor, 1 Star review doesn’t necessarily mean they were mistreated or scammed. If you read the content and tone of a complaint you may determine that a customer had unrealistic expectations.
